Dadaocheng

 

One of the best places in Taipei to enjoy the riverside and rich Taiwanese culture.

DATONG DISTRICT —This area has gotten a few makeovers in recent years but still holds a uniquely Taiwanese historic vibe.  The buildings here have been preserved since the Japanese colonial era and look quite nice.  There are lots of unique shops and museums, but also modern bars near the water.  And young models like to come here and do photoshoots with traditionally Chinese dresses.

If you want to do more exploring after visiting here then I recommend Ning Xia Night Market which is within walking distance.
