Fulong Beach

Perhaps Taiwan's most famous beach.  And for good reason.  It's quite clean provides a huge open area with lots of shops and amenities nearby, but unlike many other popular tourist areas in Taiwan it has not been overrun with government megaphones and food vendors... yet.

FULONG BEACH —As a photographer this beach doesn't really provide any advantages that other beaches such as Qianshuiwan or Baishawan which are both closer to Taipei, but it is home to a yearly sand sculpture contest that's worth covering.  And if you just want to come out and have a good time I think it's slightly more fun than the places mentioned above.

If you want to venture further south from this place then I recommend heading out to Waiao Beach.  If heading north there are tons of places to check out such as the Nanya Rock Formations, Jiufen, Elephant Rock, Baoduozi Coastal Park, Yehliu, and Laomei Reef.
