Laomei Reef

 

These rocks were formed by volcanic activity in Taiwan many years ago.  They have since become a very popular spot for photographers, which has led to most of the moss you see in this picture dying.

SHIMEN DISTRICT —I discovered this spot on Instagram and wanted to try my hand at capturing it.  Turns out this was one of my best shots ever.  There was a bit of danger involved though.  

The rocks here are really slippery.  I saw another photographer here slip and hit their head.  They were carted away in an ambulance.  So if you come here please be careful.  Good spots nearby include Baishawan Beach and Shimendong.
